Rehab Aide - Per Diem
About the role
Under the direction and immediate supervision of therapists, the Rehabilitation Aide assists in patient care related activities and performs routine department clerical tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining inventory.
Responsibilities
- Models and maintains a safe environment in which to deliver services.
- Assists patients in performing activities of daily living using proper body mechanics.
- Cleans and disinfects equipment as per policy.
- Maintains all supplies and equipment, including tracking inventory and ordering supplies and/or notifying appropriate staff to order supplies.
- Monitors patients with established exercise programs and ambulates patients safely under the supervision of a professional.
- Distributes linen, hot and cold packs, and supplies; handles laundry; puts away equipment after use; and performs clearing and maintenance of equipment.
- Cleans wheelchairs, weights, mats, and tables between uses.
- Prepares and cleans whirlpools as directed by the therapist.
- Transports patients into the appropriate treatment areas in an orderly and timely fashion.
- Notifies supervisor of any unsafe conditions and handles emergency situations in an appropriate manner.
- Assists therapists to ensure efficiency of department, especially during high patient volume.
- Provides clerical/front desk support as needed, including answering phones, relaying messages, greeting patients, copying, filing, maintaining charts, and scheduling patient appointments.
- Develops a rapport and mutual respect with patients and team members, fostering an optimum environment for goal achievement.
- Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Requirements
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- BLS Certification within 30 days of hire.
Pay
Minimum rate of $17.64 hourly. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good-faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package. The base compensation determined at the time of the offer may vary based on labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding.
