Regulatory Science Resource Technician (Mid)

Pay

Pay range: $20–29 per hour, depending on experience.

About the role

Individual will need to be able to work in a high-energy, fast-paced lab or controlled environment setting. The selected candidate will be placed in one of several roles supporting Regulatory studies, with opportunity to move among them as proficiency is gained.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and inventorying plant sample materials including seed and plant parts.
• Organizing, placing, or retrieving inventories (ambient, 4°C, or -20°C walk-in coolers, warehouse, or -80°C upright units). For warehouse inventory only, use/operation of forklift equipment is preferred but offered as an option.
• Creating and shipping plant sampling kits.
• Aliquoting and packaging seed for distribution.
• Preparing seed for downstream molecular analysis.
• Entering data into corporate database systems.
• Assisting with sample preparation for downstream studies and customers using specialized milling equipment.
• Assisting with general plant care, seed propagation, pollination, and tissue sampling in controlled environment settings.
• Using various lab equipment as required.

• High level of detail orientation.
• Able to complete tasks through multiple workflows.
• Comfortable with a fast pace and high workload.
• Good communication skills; willing to ask questions when necessary.
• Able to follow very detailed process instructions accurately.
• Comfortable with electronic systems use.
• Must be trained on and able to follow EPA GLP, USDA-APHIS, and/or other international regulations; compliance is paramount and failure can lead to termination, violations, or fines.
• Maintain GLP compliance via documentation for laboratory equipment.
• Document all seed and sample handling activities in both electronic and manual systems.
• Perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment while communicating with sample owners, team members, and analysts.
• Understand production plans, protocols, and relevant SOPs for the care, handling, or preparation of seed or samples.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds in various conditions.
