What You’ll Be Doing

  • The Legal Department is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated law student for a part-time, remote internship.
  • The Product and Commercial Legal Intern will gain hands-on experience working with in-house counsel on a variety of corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
  • This role combines product-focused regulatory work—including advertising compliance and FDA/FTC research—with commercial legal support across the contract-management lifecycle and entity governance.
  • This position offers meaningful exposure to the daily operations of a corporate legal function in the health and wellness industry.
  • Product & Regulatory Compliance Support:
    • Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law pertaining to advertising and FDA/FTC regulatory compliance.
    • Support the Regulatory Attorney in reviewing marketing materials, advertisements, and promotional campaigns for compliance with legal requirements.
    • Aid in developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and training programs to promote awareness and adherence to regulatory requirements.
    • Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the company’s operations, and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.
    • Draft legal memoranda, reports, and correspondence to provide insights and recommendations on compliance matters.
  • General Department Support:
    • Assist in maintaining corporate records, entity databases, and governance documents.
    • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and process improvement initiatives across both regulatory and commercial workstreams.
    • Assist attorneys and staff with ad-hoc research, project-based work, and help organize and maintain the department’s shared resources and document repositories.

    • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
    • Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
    • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with attorneys and cross-functional teams.
  • Technical & Legal Skills:
    • Statutory Interpretation: Competent in interpreting statutes and regulations to assess their applicability and impact on specific legal issues, particularly in advertising and health and wellness.
    • Basic understanding of contract structure, common legal terms, negotiation principles, and corporate governance concepts.
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
    • Proficiency with technology tools including Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, AI technology, and contract management systems for efficient document management and research.
    • Research and writing proficiency consistent with law school training.
    • Current Law Student; college degree required.
    • Prior experience in a corporate or legal environment (preferred).

Pay

The base hourly range is $18 - $20. The posted hourly range in this job posting reflects data based on California's cost of labor analysis. This salary range is subject to change per state; please click here to find the pay differential in your state of residence if the role is remote.
