Regulatory Analyst

The REGULATORY ANALYST role involves managing and analyzing Medicaid regulations and associated deliverables. This position serves as a critical liaison with state Medicaid regulators, ensuring compliance and clear communication. The role contributes by interpreting complex regulatory and contractual requirements to provide operational guidance, directly supporting regulatory adherence and health plan operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison with state Medicaid regulators, managing regulatory communications and audit deliverables
• Research healthcare regulations using resources such as Washington Administrative Code and Federal Register
• Identify and analyze laws affecting health plan operations including Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA
• Review legislative bills for health plan impact
• Draft summaries of regulatory updates for internal stakeholders
• Respond to non-routine regulatory inquiries from internal teams
• Coordinate cross-functional meetings for regulatory updates and track implementation
• Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to address potential issues
• Conduct ad hoc research and disseminate guidance on regulatory requirements
• Draft policies, procedures, and job aids related to regulatory operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years compliance and regulatory experience
• Experience with licensure filings, corporate governance, and contract management preferred
• Familiarity with Medicare or Medicaid industry preferred
• Strong technical writing skills and ability to interpret complex regulations
• Experience working with Washington Apple Health Medicaid managed care and state regulators preferred

Pay

$70,100.00 - $126,200.00 per year
