About the role

We are a Seacoast, New Hampshire contract machine shop specializing in 5-axis milling and CNC turning, providing high-quality manufacturing solutions to the automotive, industrial, and aerospace sectors. We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Machinist Programmer to set up, program, operate, and maintain multi-axis CNC lathes with live tooling. You will play a crucial part in ensuring precision and quality in our machining processes.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and program multi-axis CNC lathes with live tooling to manufacture precision parts.
  • Create new programs utilizing Mastercam CAD/CAM software to successfully machine parts within part print tolerances.
  • Create set-up sheets and tool lists for efficient machine operations.
  • Perform test runs of programs to ensure the process is capable and meets specifications.
  • Modify post processors and manually edit existing programs as needed.
  • Inspect parts using various quality inspection tools to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications.
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and machine parameters for efficient production.
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust settings as needed for quality control.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and machinery issues.
  • Maintain and clean the machine and workspace, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
  • Lead operators and other machinists to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts, identifying areas for process optimization and waste reduction.
  • Understand, maintain, and execute Quality Policies and Procedures.
  • Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC lathe programming & set-up.
  • Proficiency in multi-axis CNC lathes with live tooling.
  • Strong knowledge of Mastercam software, G-Code and M-Code programming.
  • Proficient in the use of CNC software and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles and tool selection.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (i.e., read, write, and communicate in English effectively).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong knowledge in various PC applications such as Microsoft Office, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CNC Machinist and CAD/CAM Program, are preferred.

Schedule

Full-time position; Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 3:00pm
