Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Senior Advisor
Join the clean energy revolution as a Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE). In this role, you’ll serve as the External Regulatory Audit Manager, leading the company’s response to multiple external regulatory audits conducted by the CPUC, Office of Electric Infrastructure Safety (OEIS), FERC, third-party auditors, NERC, and WECC. You’ll also oversee SCE’s Compliance Program, including a newly innovative OU mitigation tracking system, and act as the company’s expert on compliance processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Develops business requirements, performs gap analysis, and identifies strategies for controls and risk mitigation.
- Facilitates training and ensures the effective remediation of potential non-compliant situations.
- Supports legislative strategy and legislative language development to advance or defend company positions.
- Conducts audit reviews to ensure compliance with policies and standards enforced by relevant agencies.
- Identifies significant regulatory challenges and commercial opportunities in current and future regulatory environments.
- Advises and counsels on new consumer products, product structures, and compliance with changing regulatory rules and political environments.
- Oversees and implements the organization’s compliance reporting activities.
- Leads regulatory report submission for the company.
- Provides guidance to cross-functional organizations on preventative measures for corrective action responses.
- Ensures the protection of the company’s physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, as well as the proper handling of sensitive data, including private customer data, proprietary information, and confidential records.
Requirements
- Ten or more years of experience with regulatory filings/proceedings and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Experience interfacing and negotiating with CPUC, Office of Electric Infrastructure Safety (OEIS), FERC, and/or WECC staff (preferred).
- Experience leading projects and/or cross-functional teams (preferred).
- Project Management Certification (preferred).
- Experience working in Energy Procurement, Transmission and Distribution, Customer Service Programs, Regulatory Affairs, or Finance (preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze regulatory and business problems and create innovative solutions.
- Experience presenting complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Experience using AI or other technology platforms (e.g., Power BI, Power Platform).
Schedule
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. The work mode may change based on business needs.
Pay
Pay Range: $161,700.00 – $242,600.00

The successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation prior to being hired and complete specified training before gaining unescorted access to assigned work locations and performing necessary job duties.
