About the role
The Regs Winder at Eaton's ES AMER ESS division in Nacogdoches, TX is responsible for setting up, winding, and insulating Main, PT, and Reactor coils using computer-controlled coil winding machines. Tasks include interpreting winding specifications, installing and adjusting devices, measuring materials, labeling coils, performing rework, and adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Uses defined procedures/processes/specifications to wind and insulate coils
- Identifies coil part numbers and quantities from schedules/work order tickets
- Retrieves necessary small parts and inputs part numbers on the computer-controlled coil winding machine during set up
- Accurately interprets winding specifications and sets up machines following specifications
- Installs and adjusts devices on the machine to meet window sizing specifications
- Measures materials, makes adjustments, and verifies alignment
- Plants and adjusts coil form according to specifications
- Activates the machine to feed materials and follows instructions on the run screen
- Lables coils with ID number, work order number, part number, and machine number
- Utilizes measuring devices including hydraulic tools, hand tools, brazing, soldering, pliers, scissors, rubber hammer, ratchet, wrenches, and bending tools
- Applies pack out as needed per specification, repeated on each section of the coil
- Folds, insulates, and tapes-welds pre-cut leads to strip stock of coil body
- Operates a crimping tool to crimp wire to static shielding
- Performs proper ratio testing per design specification
- Performs rework on damaged or defective coils to ensure quality standards
- Conducts minor adjustments and routine upkeep of winding machines
- Weighs and logs scrap metal in the database and follows proper disposal protocols
- Oversees and enforces lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols to guarantee the safe deactivation and isolation of equipment
- Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility
- Participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization
- Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels, ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals
- Adheres to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures
- Performs other manufacturing duties as assigned
Requirements
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position
- Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the Nacogdoches, TX facility will be considered
- Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Qualifications

- Previous relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Technical knowledge required
- Works from quality and production standards and computerized winding sheets/prints to interpret coil specifications accurately
Skills

- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to lift, bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, and use both hands to lift and lower materials
- Ability to work efficiently in hot environments and tolerate loud noises
- Ability to adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
