REGISTRATION REPRESENTATIVE II - PRN
Position Summary
The Registration Representative is responsible for the first touchpoint of the revenue cycle. They are responsible for scheduling patients with a provider in the computer system, welcoming guests and patients, obtaining appropriate and accurate demographic and insurance information. Registers information into the computer system, directs traffic flow and maintains communication between clinicians, patients and other staff members. Communicates with and assists in the direct care of patients and families. Ensure the timely flow of patients and assists medical providers to provide optimal care to patients of all age groups including the physical and mentally challenged.
Essential Functions
- Receives patients and visitors in a friendly, timely fashion.
- Ascertain their needs and directs patients and visitors accordingly.
- Registers the patient in the practice bookkeeping system which involves making necessary inquiries for specific information.
- Accurately, legibly, and completely documents on the clinic record and completes form and requisitions as indicated.
- Updates accurate information in patient demographics and insurance information on every patient.
- Recognizes and honors the importance of patient confidentiality during all phases of patient registration and discharge.
- Utilizes the practice computer system for scheduling patient appointments.
- Answers the telephone promptly, communicates appropriate information, and takes messages accurately.
- Directs patient and visitor traffic flow as is necessary.
- Understands role as part of the healthcare team and demonstrates technical skills related to the job.
- Accurately, legibly, and completely documents on the clinical record and completes forms and requisitions as indicated.
- Enters, retrieves, and prints computerized information.
- Updates computer skills to meet job requirements.
- Obtain specimens and complies with appropriate handling guidelines.
- Knows and practices good customer service; demonstrates friendly and caring attitude toward patients and families.
- Works to create a pleasant work environment.
- Develop a relationship with co-workers and medical providers so as to be viewed as an asset to the patient’s medical team.
Position Requirements
- High School Graduate
- Experience in customer service environment is preferred
- Possesses basic computer skills, interest in healthcare
- Maintains current CPR certification
- Ability to work variable hours
- Possesses ability to perform complex and multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing work environment, subject to interruptions and stress in an organized and timely fashion
- Certified Nurse Assistant is preferred
- Maintain current state certification as a certified nursing assistant
Pay Rate
Pay ranges from $15.250/hour to $20.979/hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)

- HOURS: PRN hours could be M-F 8:45a-7:15p, Sat/Sun 7:45a-4:15p
