Responsibilities
- Proficient in the patient registration and scheduling requirements of the Outpatient functions
- Act as the financial interpreter for patients by advising them of their financial responsibilities
- Provide patients or their legal representative with concise and easily understood information about their healthcare coverage
- Receive and screen visitors and telephone calls for department
- Schedule outpatient services
- Perform registration process in accordance with Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures
- Possess a thorough understanding of all other operational functions within the department
- Demonstrate proficiency in downtime procedures
Requirements
- Medical Terminology required
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- ICD coding experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of third party payer, federal and state regulations desired
- Highly motivated
- Enthusiastic team player
Pay
- Salary Range: 17.30 - 23.36 USD
