About the Role

As a Registration Clerk in the Cancer Center, you will greet patients arriving for appointments and/or treatment, presenting a positive first impression and exhibiting excellent public relations skills. You will handle routine patient inquiries, check patients into Mosaiq, and queue them to the appropriate area—most often Registration. This role involves answering incoming calls from patients and physician offices, routing them as needed, and directing walk-in patients to the appropriate services. You will ensure all verbal and written information entered into Mosaiq or HIS is accurate and timely.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and provide a welcoming first impression.
  • Check patients into Mosaiq and queue them to the appropriate area (primarily Registration).
  • Answer and route incoming calls from patients, physician offices, and others.
  • Direct walk-in patients to the appropriate services based on their needs.
  • Enter accurate and timely information into Mosaiq and HIS.
  • Handle routine patient inquiries and problems effectively.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • Previous reception or clerical experience of at least one year, preferably in a medical office.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to organize workload efficiently.
  • Accurate spelling and typing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.

Working Conditions

  • Safe and efficient operation of office equipment, including copier, fax, printers, computer, telephone, and credit card machine.
  • Must be able to listen and verbally respond to customers, staff, physicians, and visitors.
  • Moderate physical demands, including lifting 0–25 pounds, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting.

Schedule

Full Time, 8-hour day shift.
