Registration Associate – Albany Memorial Hospital - FT Days

About the role

Representative I – Patient Access with holiday and/or weekend rotation required. A two-week training period is required. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient-focused customer service.
• Performs outpatient and/or inpatient registration and insurance verification functions.
• Collects patient financial liability payments and ensures patients meet financial requirements including Medicare medical necessity, payer pre-certifications, and referrals.
• Provides general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.

• Data Management & Analysis: Researches and compiles information to support ad-hoc operational projects and initiatives; synthesizes and analyzes data and provides detailed summaries including graphical data presentations illustrating trends and recommending practical options or solutions; leverages program and operational data and measurements to define and demonstrate progress, ROI, and impacts.
• Maintains a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, and other policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position.
• Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience; patient access experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire.

Additional Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Medical terminology required and knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding.
• Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations.

Pay

Pay range: $17.25–$22.54 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
