About the role
Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Ophthalmology team. This position plays a vital role in helping preserve and restore vision while supporting patients and their families through treatment.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Calculate and administer medications, fluids, and CRIs
- Maintain anesthesia for a variety of diagnostic and surgical procedures
- Prepare patients for procedures and assist with recovery
- Absorb and assist the Ophthalmologist during appointments and surgical procedures
- Provide client education and guidance throughout the treatment process
- Advocate for patient comfort, safety, and exceptional nursing care
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Collaborate with doctors and team members to ensure the highest standard of patient care
Requirements
- Active California RVT license
- Minimum two years of veterinary experience
- Strong anesthesia knowledge and hands-on anesthesia experience
- Comprehensive understanding of anesthetic monitoring
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Pay
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT): $24–$34/hour
- Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS): $35–$42/hour
