Registered Veterinary Technician
About the role
For Paws Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care. In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.
Responsibilities
- Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
- Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Assisting in surgery
- Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
- Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
- Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
Schedule and compensation
- Compensation: $19 - $24 per hour, for each hour worked
- This is a full-time or part-time position, with a 7:30am - 5pm schedule and availability needed 3-4 days a week Monday-Friday.

Minimum qualifications and skill set
- 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
- Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Colorado
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
- Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
- Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
- Radiograph positioning and sagely protocols
- Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
- Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
- Accurate medical record documentation
- Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
- Client education and communication
- Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
