About the role

We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Orpington Vets for Pets! Based in the heart of the local community, we’re a vibrant practice with a strong, inclusive team of 3 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 4 vets, 3 Receptionists, and 5 VCA. We offer excellent facilities including running nurse clinics, laparoscopic surgery, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, ultrasound, digital x-ray, dental machine, and laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate and professional care to patients under the supervision of veterinarians.
  • Assist with routine and complex medical procedures, including laparoscopic surgery and orthopaedic surgeries.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment plans.
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor patient recovery.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to ensure they understand their pet's condition and treatment plan.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain and enhance skills.

Requirements

  • A recognized degree in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
  • Experience in a veterinary environment preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RNVN) or equivalent.
  • Current RCVS registration.

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Competitive salary depending on experience.

Schedule

The weekend rota is 1 in 3 Saturdays to maintain a good work-life balance.
