Position Summary

A Medical technologist works under the general supervision of another sleep technologist to learn the necessary skills to become a sleep technologist in order to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and out of center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and Analyze Patient Information
  • Complete and verify documentation
  • Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient
  • Testing Preparation Procedures
  • Polysomnographic Procedures
  • Polysomnographic Record Scoring
  • Oversees and performs difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Evaluate sleep study related equipment and inventory
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues
  • Perform routine and complex equipment care and maintenance
  • Continuity of patient care must be provided in a coordinated manner

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized sleep technology program
  • Current RPSGT certification from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM)
  • Current CPR or BCLS certification
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

  • Experience in sleep technology preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

  • Knowledge of polysomnography techniques and equipment
  • Ability to interpret and score polysomnographic data
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities

Competitive salary commensurate with experience

Schedule

Hours are generally 6:00 pm - 6:00 am and vary depending on patient volume
