Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Per Diem

Responsibilities

• Aids in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of pulmonary disorders.
• Performs cardiopulmonary evaluations, respiratory therapy treatments, and patient education.
• Administers and monitors medical gases, mechanical ventilation, artificial airway care, and bronchopulmonary hygiene.
• Monitors and changes ventilators, circuits, and other respiratory equipment.
• Records patient responses and clinical data in the electronic medical record system.
• Manages patients on life support systems based on blood gas results and weaning studies.
• Supervises Certified Respiratory Care Technicians and ensures clinical compliance.
• Changes and maintains ventilators and other respiratory equipment according to infection control protocols.
• Communicates with patients and caregivers to deliver care specific to their needs.
• Lifts, pushes, and stands for a minimum of 6 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Associate degree.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical aspects of Respiratory Care.
• NJ Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• NJ Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
• Possession of additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support is preferred.
