Registered Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem

Role Overview

Provides routine and advanced respiratory care, manages ventilators, implements cardiorespiratory protocols, and performs advanced airway procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with bronchoscopy procedures, monitor patient consciousness and vital signs, and deliver IV conscious sedation.
• Initiate and coordinate ventilator management, including advanced airway care such as tracheotomy changes, extubation, and intubation.
• Operate high-frequency ventilators and deliver Nitric Oxide therapy.
• Perform NICU-specific procedures like surfactant delivery, intubation, and attend high-risk deliveries.
• Support optional procedures such as patient transport, intubation, and back-up charge therapy.
• Perform other department-specific duties and respond to assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Respiratory Care.
• New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS.
• Critical care experience preferred.
