About the role
Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director or manager, the Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) performs respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the ordering provider. Emphasis is on assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population-specific needs. May occasionally be assigned as Lead RCP, responsible for the section or department during their shift.
Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the provider.
- Assess, plan, implement, and document patient care with consideration of age and population-specific needs.
- Serve as Lead RCP when assigned, overseeing the section or department during the shift.
Requirements
- Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintained.
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA or ARC upon hire and maintained.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire.
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of acute care experience preferred.

Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $37.00 to $49.80 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
Schedule
- Part-time, less than 60 hours per pay period
- Night shift
