Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner

About the Role

Leads the respiratory care department by managing staff and performing clinical duties such as patient assessment, ventilator management, and diagnostic evaluations. Acts as an expert clinician and resource for the healthcare team, ensuring quality patient care and adherence to policies. Coordinates staffing, schedules, and equipment maintenance, while overseeing supplies and department operations.

Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise department functions, therapies, and patient assessments
• Ensure proper use of equipment and supplies
• Train and orient new staff, perform performance evaluations
• Assist with emergency resuscitations and maintain safety standards
• Develop and update policies, ensure compliance, and support quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and RCP license
• CACPR/BLS certification required; NRP, ACLS, PALS, PEARS preferred
• Minimum of two years' leadership experience and five years' technical expertise, especially in PICC, Peds, or NICU (preferred)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
• Knowledge of respiratory therapy practices, equipment, and infection control
