Registered Radiologic Technologist, Per Diem Evening Shift, Radiology

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire a Registered Radiologic Technologist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging studies per protocol.
• Properly identify patients, review orders, and select diagnostic x-ray protocols to maximize quality and safe patient care.
• Accurately perform documentation in all computer systems applicable to diagnostic x-ray (HIS, RIS, PACS).
• Monitor and assist patients before, during, and after examinations.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Practice ALARA principles, including proper shielding of patients.
• Maintain patient, organizational, and employee confidentiality.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of patients served (pediatrics, geriatric, and adolescent patients).
• Receive patients, explain procedures, and answer all patient questions and concerns pertaining to the exam.
• Maintain schedule with a flexible attitude to accommodate variable volume.
• Assist in orienting new employees and training radiography students.
• Participate in PI projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT Accredited school of Radiography and/or associate degree in Radiologic Technology (preferred).
• 1 year’s radiography experience preferred.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) R.T.(R) certification.
• State of Maryland Radiation Technologist license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Schedule

• Employment Type: Per Diem.
• Hours per Week: 8.
• Typical Daily Schedule: Every other Friday evening shift, 7:30 PM – 11:30 PM.
• Shift Type: Evening.
• Holiday Requirements: Required rotating holidays (2-3 per year).
• On-Call: No.
• Shift Differential Eligible: Yes.
• Eligible for other shifts if available.

Pay

This is a per diem position with a rate of $45/hour.
