About the role

The Polysomnography Technician specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from sleep disorders. They read and follow medical orders to run various sleep studies. Under general direction of the Supervisor, performs patient care after receiving general instruction. Responsible for polysomnographic testing and scoring polysomnographic records. Other responsibilities include patient hookup, equipment calibration, responding to patients' needs, troubleshooting equipment; may also include performing clerical duties such as scheduling and pulling patient records.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy or EEG school preferred
• RPSGT, RRT or REEGT required
• Certification in CPR required
• Prior experience in polysomnographic technology preferred

About the facility

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Women's & Children’s healthcare services. We offer the region’s only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU.
