Registered Pharmacist

Duties/Skills

• Manages the Pharmacy Department and its dispensing functions for inpatient and outpatient medications.
• Manages personnel employed by the Hospital, assigning areas of responsibility to pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns, and other personnel.
• Ensures the competence of all personnel through continuing education and competence evaluations.
• Disseminates drug information to health care professionals and patients.
• Consults with other department directors, hospital administration, and other hospital personnel.
• Initiates and evaluates programs for the Pharmacy Department.
• Serves on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
• Participates in the Hospital formulary system's initiation, maintenance, and control.
• Supervises inventory control procedures, including maintaining appropriate stock levels and processing purchase orders.
• Maintains records for controlled substances and monitors usage and dating of Pharmacy supplies.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Alabama Board of Pharmacy.
• Licensed in the State of Alabama.
• Hospital experience preferred.
