About the Role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides direct occupational therapy care to patients in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. They assess, develop, and modify treatment plans to help patients achieve functional goals, oversee care provided by therapy assistants, and ensure documentation accuracy. The OT collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to support a diverse patient population with orthopedic, neurological, and post-acute needs. They participate in community health initiatives, maintain professional standards, and adhere to legal and organizational policies.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor patient-specific occupational therapy plans
- Assess, establish, and modify functional goals
- Supervise therapy support staff and students
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and utilize therapy software
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and support community health initiatives
- Ensure patient safety, rights, and confidentiality
- Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and excellent customer service
Qualifications & Skills
- Registered/licensed in applicable state; NBCOT certification required
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (BSOT or MSOT)
- CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Strong communication, decision-making, and body mechanics skills
- Previous experience preferred, but new grads are welcome
