Registered Nurses for School Bus

About the role

Calling all nurses! We are looking for Registered Nurses to work in a school setting as a School Bus RN. This role is dedicated to providing nursing care on a bus for an assigned student. You would ride the bus to and from school, supporting students on bus rides to and from school. Medical needs will be discussed during the interview. Come join our team and support our local school communities in Ontario and Wayne County. Similar job titles include School Nurses, 1:1 RNs, Substitute Nurse, and Substitute RN.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on the bus for an assigned student.
• Ride the bus to and from school.
• Support students during bus rides to and from school.
• Attend field trips off site.
• Manage a fast‑paced school health office and respond to classroom emergencies.
• Care for customers and patients, share knowledge, and embrace challenges.
• Work collaboratively with other school staff.

Requirements

• Current NYS Registered Nursing License (must be valid).
• BLS certification.
• Dependability.
• Clean background check and drug screen.
• Computer skills.
• Compassion.
• Strong multitasking ability.
• Understanding of the pediatric population.
• Strong sense of basic nursing skills.
• High level of autonomy.
