General Summary
Toledo Clinic's Urology Department, RoMius Urology, is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to work 1-2 days during the week (8-9 hours per day). This position will be trained to perform circulation, IV sedation, holding, and/or PACU duties in an office based procedural setting. This position will provide support at our Maumee Ohio location.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
- Develops a plan of care based on patient health care data, procedure to be performed, and expected patient outcomes.
- Affords assistance to the physician by preparing, monitoring, educating, or recovering the patient in Office Based Procedural setting.
- When assigned to circulator duties, the nurse will assist the IV sedation nurse to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Maintains documentation of nursing process for the care of the operative patient.
- Evaluates changes in procedure and updates physician preference cards.
Other Essential Duties May Include but Are Not Limited To
- Prepares, cleans, and sets up disposable instruments for case support in the procedure room.
- Assists in counting sponges, sharps, and instruments.
- Participates in Quality Assurance/Improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire.
- Completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintains aseptic technique in accordance with AORN/ASPAN standards.
- Adheres to Universal Precaution Standards and clinic policies and procedures.
- Sets aside appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Adheres to all clinic policies and procedure.
- Active and appropriate state RN licensure in good standing.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
Education
- Associates degree, bachelor’s degree, or diploma in nursing.
Preferred
- Previous Interventional Radiology experience or similar.
- Previous IV sedation experience or certificate of completed training
- PACU and OR experience.
