REGISTERED NURSE: University Hospital ( PACU )

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to multiple surgical population (ICU, general care and OP).
  • Maintain patient's airway, VS/I&O.
  • Monitor EKG, arterial line, PA catheter, etc.
  • Pain management (PCA and Epidural).
  • Participate as a member of the collaborative health team.
  • Provide patient/family education.
  • Prepare unit for Pre-op patients (IV set-up review charts for H&P, consent, etc.).
  • Provide direct care for Pre-op patients.

Required Qualifications

  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the state of Michigan.
  • Two (2) years of Adult Surgical ICU RN experience within the last three (3) years.
  • Knowledge of multiple surgical procedures.
  • -OR- Two (2) years of Adult Emergency Department RN experience within the last three (3) years.
  • Two (2) years of current Adult PACU RN experience (with a minimum of 20 hours per week) to include caring for patients at an ICU level of care, within the last three (3) years.

Desired Qualifications

  • BSN
  • Recent Experience In PACU, ED Or ICU.
  • CPAN certified
  • CAPA certified
  • AACLIS certified
  • PALS certified
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level

  • This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
  • Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.

Work Schedule

  • Hours: 40 hours/week
  • Shift: 10hr shift start times of 10am, 12noon and 2pm
  • Location: University Hospital- PACU
  • Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
