Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to multiple surgical population (ICU, general care and OP).
- Maintain patient's airway, VS/I&O.
- Monitor EKG, arterial line, PA catheter, etc.
- Pain management (PCA and Epidural).
- Participate as a member of the collaborative health team.
- Provide patient/family education.
- Prepare unit for Pre-op patients (IV set-up review charts for H&P, consent, etc.).
- Provide direct care for Pre-op patients.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the state of Michigan.
- Two (2) years of Adult Surgical ICU RN experience within the last three (3) years.
- Knowledge of multiple surgical procedures.
- -OR- Two (2) years of Adult Emergency Department RN experience within the last three (3) years.
- Two (2) years of current Adult PACU RN experience (with a minimum of 20 hours per week) to include caring for patients at an ICU level of care, within the last three (3) years.
Desired Qualifications
- BSN
- Recent Experience In PACU, ED Or ICU.
- CPAN certified
- CAPA certified
- AACLIS certified
- PALS certified
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level
- This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
- Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Work Schedule
- Hours: 40 hours/week
- Shift: 10hr shift start times of 10am, 12noon and 2pm
- Location: University Hospital- PACU
- Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
