About the role
Assists the Director of Nursing in the overall management of the Department of Nursing.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Affirm and practice the philosophy, nursing objectives and standards of the Department of Nursing.
- Ensure the nursing department is adequately staffed to provide quality care to patients/residents.
- Ensure the provision of in-service/staff development programs that contribute to meeting nursing objectives and standards and comply with all state and federal regulations.
- Provide clinical expertise to facilitate and support the nursing process in patient/resident interventions.
- Exercise administrative and functional supervision over nursing personnel as directed by the Director of Nursing.
- Affirm and support the nursing process in patient/resident interventions.
- Ensure a safe and sanitary environment for patients, residents, employees and visitors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in nursing preferred.
- Three to five years management experience.
- RN license in state.
