Registered Nurse - Triage

Job Duties

• Works under the general supervision of the Triage Nurse Manager.
• Responsible for the nursing practices, policies, and procedures of OneWorld Community Health Centers.
• Supervises Health Assistants and Medical Assistants.
• Provides nursing care within the Registered Nurse scope of practice.
• Directs the activities of supervised staff.
• Develops, maintains, implements, and monitors nursing practices within OneWorld.
• Affords assistance to providers in healthcare activities, performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures, and the administration of medications as necessary.
• Aids in completing medication refills, providing instructions to patients, making appointments, relaying patients’ requests and questions to the appropriate provider, and following up with the provider’s directives.
• Aids in the completion of paperwork, provides phone and walk-in triage, and determines patient disposition based on established triage protocols.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to determine appropriate follow-up for triaged patients.
• Participates in professional continuing education as required for licensure.
