About the role

Regions Hospital is seeking an exceptional, patient-focused Registered Nurse to join the Trauma & Surgical Unit. The unit is fast-paced and cares for a variety of patients, including those with trauma, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, colorectal surgeries, oncology, plastics, GYN, and patients requiring various medical interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Care for patients aged 16 and older in a general/progressive surgical, specialty surgical, and trauma care setting.
  • Provide patient and family-centered care that emphasizes healing and compassion at the bedside.
  • Manage clinical practice and working environment through the Shared Governance Model, focusing on evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Participate in the Transition to Regions Hospital Practice program, a structured nurse residency program designed to support learning, role transition, and retention.
  • Work in a 0.70 Day/Night schedule, rotating 12-hour shifts every third weekend and nights during the week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Associate Degree in Nursing with 1 year of RN experience.
  • Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota.
  • CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers certification.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to work with a wide range of patients from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
  • One year of acute care RN experience.
