Registered Nurse - Surgery Center (Lewisburg) - Days (full-time)

General Summary

Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care. Primary responsibilities include direct patient care, patient/family teaching, symptom management, counseling, and supportive role to assist the patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients.
• Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patients' conditions and develops individual care plans for patients.
• Carries out physician orders such as administering prescribed medications or treatments, preparing an operating room, ordering lab tests, x-rays, etc...
• Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning.
• Maintains aseptic techniques; actively monitors situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
• Auxiliaries in patient care related activities such as changing dressings, cleaning wounds, monitoring vital signs, starting IV solutions and inserting tubes.
• Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members.
• Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties.
• Prepares and maintains records of patient charges.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Diploma Program Required or Associates Degree Required. Bachelors Degree Nursing (BSN) Preferred.
• Work Experience: 1 year Nursing experience. Required.
• Licenses: Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required. Registered Nurse Multi State License Upon Hire Required. Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire Preferred.
