Registered Nurse - Surgery

About the role

The Department of Surgery Schedule Per Diem position at FacilityPrime Healthcare St. Joseph in Elgin, IL requires a Registered Nurse who is accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and Director of Surgical Services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults using the nursing process.
• Coordinate patient care with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and direct OR Technicians and other personnel.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a seamless continuum of care and maintain unit organization and efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and procedures.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and in-services.
• Provide guidance and support to other staff members as needed.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) certification from AORN preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay

The exact starting compensation will be determined during the hiring process, based on a variety of factors including skillset, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and licensure. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $43.00 per diem.

Schedule

This is a per diem position with on-call responsibilities.
