Registered Nurse- Surgery

Responsibilities

• Delivers direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and older adults through the nursing process.
• Collaborates with surgeons and anesthesiologists to coordinate patient care.
• Directs and guides OR Technicians and other personnel while maintaining high standards of professional nursing.
• Works with other departments to ensure a seamless continuum of care and maintains efficient patient flow and unit organization.
• Maintains adherence to regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
• Participates in performance improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services.
• Provides resources and support to other personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
