About the role
Uses the nursing process to safely coordinate outpatient clinic patient care and education under the supervision of the Clinic Administrator and Office Manager.
- Determines workload based on clinic's appointment schedule, staffing levels, and clinic and staff needs.
- Willing to be reassigned within the clinic or float to another clinic as needed.
- Assists with orientation and preceptorship of nursing, technical, and clerical personnel.
- Documents total clinic patient care given, reviews and maintains patient charts, and assists with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates outpatient clinic patient care and education.
- Works collaboratively with the Mississippi Cancer Institute Director, radiation oncologist, medical oncologist, referring physicians, and other staff members.
- Assists with orientation and preceptorship of nursing, technical, and clerical personnel.
- Documents total care given, reviews and maintains patient charts, and assists with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
Requirements
- Must be willing to be reassigned within clinic or willing to float to another clinic.
- Must be able to work and relate in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
- Attendance to yearly mandatory education requirements is nonnegotiable and will be the responsibility of the employee to arrange and attend sessions.
Qualifications
- Must have a current Mississippi RN license.
- Experience in outpatient clinic setting preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends as needed.
