Registered Nurse-Surg General -Full Time

As a competent Nurse in the same or similar clinical setting, you will practice independently, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. You will provide routine and complex care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. You will continue developing your ability to cope with and manage contingencies in clinical nursing while making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers to help manage clinical situations.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation) for assigned patients, consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to your level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty, preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact state.
