About the Role
Join the State of Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home, where you'll step into a leadership role as a Registered Nurse Supervisor B that combines clinical excellence with genuine care for those who served. Overseer of four wings that includes supervising the LPN, CNA and RNs.
Responsibilities
- Plans, directs, and delivers resident care on assigned units, including shift coordination, staff reassignment, and direct patient care as needed (e.g., administering medications, treatments, and assessments).
- Supervises and evaluates performance of subordinate staff, including conducting performance evaluations, managing disciplinary actions, and supporting professional development through in-service training.
- Collaborates with nursing leadership and other departments to ensure 24-hour continuity of care and maintain a safe, effective environment for residents.
- Completes clinical documentation such as the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), Minimum Data Set (MDS), and updates care plans based on residents' evolving needs.
- Investigates and reports complaints and unusual occurrences, documenting findings and proposing plans of action to Nursing Administration.
Requirements
- Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse.
- One of the following:
- Four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse;
- A bachelor's degree in nursing plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse;
- A master's degree in nursing or public health plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse;
- A doctorate in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following: Four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A bachelor's degree in nursing plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A master's degree in nursing or public health plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR A doctorate in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Compensation
- Special Entrance Rate: $ 2919.20BI-WEEKLY / $36.49 PER HOUR
- Premium Pay: $7.00/HR - Worked Hours Only
- Shift Differential: This position qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays.
