Registered Nurse Supervisor

Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our Forensics Nursing Team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Registered Nurse Supervisor. The Registered Nurse Supervisor provides supervision in the coordination and delivery of nursing care to clients at the Forensic Mental Health Program. This position serves as a leader and resource person for nursing staff and other employees, using the nursing process as a guideline to ensure appropriate skilled clinical nursing care.

• Participate in establishing and coordinating the implementation of the mission, philosophy, goals, objectives, and standards of practice, care, and performance for nursing care within Forensic Services.
• Participate in maintaining adequate and appropriate staffing levels in Forensic Services.

The Forensic Services campus in St. Peter is comprised of the Forensic Mental Health Program and the Forensic Nursing Home. Forensic Services provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the delivery of nursing care in a forensic mental health setting.
• Serve as a leader and resource for nursing staff and other employees.
• Ensure nursing care aligns with established standards of practice, care, and performance.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels within Forensic Services.

Requirements

• Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing plus three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience, including at least two (2) years as a charge Registered Nurse; OR Associate degree or diploma in nursing plus four (4) years of Registered Nurse experience, including at least two (2) years as a charge Registered Nurse.

Preferred Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a residential or hospital setting.
• Experience working with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) patients in a residential or hospital setting.
• Experience preparing nursing teams, sections, or units for accreditation and/or licensing surveys.
• Experience with conflict management.
• Dedication to cultural responsiveness and experience working effectively with diverse backgrounds and cultures.

• Resume must clearly describe experience in the required areas, including beginning and ending month/year for each job held.
• Reference and background checks, including a criminal background check, will be conducted prior to appointment.
• Education verification: Applicants must provide a copy of their high school diploma or college transcript/degree at the time of interview. College degrees must clearly identify the field of study.
• Documentation of freedom from tuberculosis (TB) via a blood test is required prior to employment (TB skin testing is not accepted).

Pay

$45.01 - $66.81 / hourly; $93,980 - $139,499 / annually.

Schedule

• Full-time, unlimited (regular) position.
• Rotating shifts, including some evenings and weekends.
• Days of work vary; core hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
• No telework eligibility.
• No travel required.
