About the role
Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital, located near Myrtle Beach, SC, treats adolescents, adults, and senior adults with psychiatric needs, as well as adults with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, or rehabilitation needs. The hospital offers 24-hour admissions, needs assessment, and referral services. We are seeking a dynamic Nurse Supervisor (RN) for the day shift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM).
Responsibilities
- Directly responsible to the Director of Nursing and Nurse Manager for quality care to psychiatric patients, residents, family members, and all customer groups.
- Exercise independent judgment in supervising staff providing nursing care and overseeing clinical areas during after-hours.
- Work closely with the treatment team and keep physicians, Administrator-On-Call (AOC), and DON informed of issues that arise.
- Control FTEs and arrange staffing for nursing units in accordance with staffing grids, census, and patient acuity.
- Supervise all nursing service staff and handle patient complaints using discretion.
- Work closely with admissions regarding after-hours patient admissions and discharges.
- Oversee all codes and ensure proper documentation.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of nursing supervisor experience at minimum.
- Management/leadership experience preferred.
- Current license in good standing in South Carolina as a Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- CPI Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of ANA nursing standards and Federal and State guidelines and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to work independently.
