About the role
The Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse- DPC RN is responsible for providing patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner using evidence-based practice standards of quality, safety, and service.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Provide direct patient care, including medication administration and monitoring vital signs
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Perform technical skills such as administering medications, drawing blood, and performing basic procedures
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe patient environment
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Tuition reimbursement for BSN completion within 3 years of hire
- Completion of a preceptor class within 12 months of becoming competent in independent practice
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Experience in direct patient care preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
