What You’ll Do

  • Provide high-quality care for intermediate-acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence-based practices.
  • Accurately hand-off and perform bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post-ICU), and support recovery.
  • Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit-based quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN). BSN preferred.
  • Licensure: Current Missouri RN license or compact license.
  • Certifications: Required: BLS (American Heart Association). Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN, or other Stepdown-related certifications.
