Registered Nurse, Spina Bifida

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering advanced, compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse population by cultivating collaborative relationships and adapting to changing technologies in an evolving model of patient care.
• Facilitating care coordination for complex spina bifida patients with:
• Phone calls related to patient issues/triage.
• Prescription refills, lab evaluation, pre-operative and post-operative plans.
• New patient intakes to assess care acuity prior to clinic visit.
• Working closely with interdisciplinary teams.
• Serving as a liaison between the interdisciplinary physician team, nurse practitioners, and administrative staff.
• Improving patient safety and patient experience.
• Engaging in health teaching with the patient and their family in collaboration with the health care team.
• Referring patients to community resources, developing relationships with ancillary services to assist in problem solving/facilitate patient access and care.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience, with previous experience with pediatric complex-care patients preferred.

Education

• MA RN License required.

Pay and Benefits

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this position at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
