Job Summary and Responsibilities
- Adheres to the department's and hospital's policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards.
- Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications (e.g., topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously and intravenously) as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.
- Demonstrates competent professional practice and engages in opportunities for professional growth. Demonstrates self-accountability to meet stated deadlines for all mandatory requirements.
- Absess and cares for post-partum and newborn patients.
- Identifies full-term infants at risk for complications and provides appropriate care to the full-term infant with complications.
Job Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing;
- Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
- One year of related work experience is preferred or completion of NICU / Mother/Baby Education Program after hire.
- National Certification Corporation (NCC) certification Low Risk Neonatal or NICU preferred
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification completion within 6 months of date of hire.
