Registered Nurse Senior - Chemo - Full Time

Essential Functions

• Evaluates and manages patient needs. Offers education and support to patient and families.
• Collaborates research with investigator, other employees and patient. Provides on-call coverage for patients receiving chemo at home on home pumps.
• Administers chemotherapy medication, including injections and IVs; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician as required by specialty; follows specific protocols.
• Demonstrates an awareness of self-responsibility and accountability for own professional practice.
• Affords assistance in the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the chemotherapy department.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.

Requirements

• Required Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing. Must possess active Florida license as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS certification or to be completed within three months of employment. Current ACLS certification or to be completed within 6 months of employment.
• PREFERRED Education and Experience: Preferred 2 years oncology experience. Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification through ONS within 90 days of hire.
