Registered Nurse, School Health (12 month)
Nature of Work
Under the supervision of the appropriate Program Supervisor, this is the professional health services (school nurse) component of the pupil services team. Functions as liaison between the Anne Arundel County Department of Health, Anne Arundel County Public Schools, one or more designated schools, the student and his/her family, and the student's healthcare provider. Provides appropriate health services, supervises delegated nursing tasks and provides counseling and resource referrals to students, parents and staff at assigned schools during the school year. Provides nursing services in Special Education schools, camps or other schools where summer programs requiring nursing services take place during summer school.
Education
- Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Two years as a registered nurse.
- Licenses/Certifications: Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
Desired Or Preferred Qualifications
Desired qualifications include school health experience.
Notes
Education determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurse preference will be given to applicants with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
