About the role

The Vascular Access Team, formerly known as the IV Team, is a specialized group of registered nurses at AH Main campus. They place vascular access devices in patients and are trained to assess patients' veins and choose the best device for their needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process.
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Use evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
  • A registered nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
  • A Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Six months of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

While not specified, candidates should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong communication skills, and the willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.

Skills

Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Proficiency with ultrasound equipment is preferred.
