Registered Nurse (RN) - Trauma Step Down

Role Overview: The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care across various inpatient units, including specialized areas such as cardiac, oncology, trauma, orthopedic, surgical, neuroscience, and family medicine units. The RN works within the nursing process to deliver safe, individualized care, collaborate with healthcare teams, and implement care plans tailored to patient age groups from neonatal to geriatric. Responsibilities include assisting with tests and procedures, administering medications, maintaining medical records, and responding to emergencies. The role also involves participating in orientation, mentorship, and ongoing professional development to ensure quality care and patient safety. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, direct nursing care to assigned patientsCollaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement care plansAssist with tests, procedures, and medication administrationEnsure accurate documentation and patient safety protocolsParticipate in staff orientation, training, and precepting new personnelRespond to emergency situations and maintain a therapeutic environmentPromote patient education and discharge planning Qualifications & Skills Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing programCurrent RN license in the applicable stateCPR/BLS certification (obtained within 30 days if not already certified)Completion of IV verification and TB testing as requiredStrong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skillsPreferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, bilingual abilities, and specialty certifications Work Environment & Conditions: The role involves working in environments with potential biohazards, requiring safety precautions.
