How You'll Contribute
- Utilize specialized plan-of-care intervention and serve as a patient-care innovator.
- Shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage skills and cutting-edge technology to impact patient wellbeing.
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in Surgery.
- Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatment.
- Document patient care given and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Absorb patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Perform patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in other nursing units as necessary.
Essential Functions
- Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
- Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.
- Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
