About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Staff/Med Surg II position at Tidelands Health is responsible for managing individualized patient care, collaborating with healthcare teams, providing physical and psychological support, and supervising assigned team members.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing data collection based on patient’s immediate condition or needs within specified timeframes.
  • Maintains confidentiality and provides care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that respects patient diversity, autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Monitors patient’s condition, assesses needs, and provides appropriate treatments and medications.
  • Performs therapeutic nursing interventions and educates patients and families on their care.
  • Documents patient condition, assessment findings, and progress towards problem resolution.
  • Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation and advanced life support protocols.
  • Communicates patient symptoms and updates to providers and other staff during shift changes.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited institution, or Bachelor's Degree (BSN) from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited institution, or Master's Degree (MSN) from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited institution.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required within 30 days of hire and must be recertified every two years.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license from the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an acute care setting.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.
