About the role

Join the Special Float Pool at Memorial Hospital Belleville and Memorial Hospital Shiloh, part of BJC HealthCare, where flexibility and clinical variety come together in a dynamic care environment. This FT Night opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses seeking to expand their skills across ICU, Emergency Department, and Medical Telemetry while working within two Magnet®-recognized hospitals.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
  • Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
  • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
  • Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
  • Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of acute care experience required.
  • Night shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
  • Every 3rd weekend + rotating holidays
  • Floating between Belleville and Shiloh campuses
  • $10-15/hour float differential + shift differentials
  • Float between Belleville and Shiloh campuses
  • BSN differential offered

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
  • 2+ years ICU and/or Emergency Department experience
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (PALS preferred for ED)
  • Telemetry interpretation experience
  • Strong IV therapy skills
