Registered Nurse (RN) -Rapid Response Team

About the Role

You will work at Lutheran General Hospital on the Rapid Response Team, a highly specialized role providing support and direct nursing interventions during high acuity situations. The main purpose is to improve the experience of critically ill patients throughout different clinical areas, establishing optimal levels of care and improved outcomes.

This team member serves as an expert resource for unit staff regarding Code Blues (including intubations), Rapid Responses, Massive Transfusion Protocol, stroke alerts, hyperbaric dives, and other critical events. You will make independent decisions and judgments on a wide range of routine and complex patient problems, collaborating with unit leadership to manage acute patient care events.

You will partner with various clinical teams to provide necessary interventions, ensuring the best patient outcomes and experience in the safest environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and direct nursing interventions during high acuity situations.
• Serve as an expert resource for unit staff during critical events such as Code Blues, Rapid Responses, Massive Transfusion Protocol, stroke alerts, and hyperbaric dives.
• Make independent decisions and judgments regarding routine and complex patient problems.
• Collaborate with unit leadership to manage acute patient care events.
• Partner with clinical teams to deliver interventions ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in Critical Care.
• Charge experience preferred.
• Nationally accredited nursing certification (CCRN) preferred.

Full time; 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
