Registered Nurse RN - Radiation Oncology Clinic

About the Role

Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse providing quality patient care through competent practice and application of the nursing process in an outpatient setting. This is a part-time, benefited position scheduled for 40 hours bi-weekly on an eight-hour day shift, with no weekends or holidays. The selected candidate will support Radiation Oncology offices, covering scheduled and unscheduled absences across locations in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Canton, Chelsea, and Livonia.

Responsibilities

• Accept accountability for coordination of nursing care for patients with complex medical and nursing needs as directed by physicians within the Radiation Oncology department.
• Serve as a clinical resource to others within the cancer program and function in a consultative relationship with health team members.
• Assess patients, develop, evaluate, and modify care plans under limited supervision.
• Interpret and perform complex patient-care procedures specific to expertise.
• Function as a member of the Care Team and Support Team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame as a professional caregiver.

Requirements

• Current Michigan Nursing License.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Effective January 1, 2013, all new hires must have a BSN degree or agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years of hire).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience; Radiation Oncology or Oncology experience encouraged.
